Film Festival Hits Town

THIS weekend the Sydney Film Festival will roll into town with a series of screenings at the Greater Union Cinemas in King Street, Newcastle.
The travelling film festival is working around the country and this year's roll call of movies ranges from big-screen adventure Night by award-winning Australian filmmaker Lawrence Johnston to a range of films from the Czech Republic.On Saturday night there will be a special double bill with the comedy Hunting and Gathering, starring Audrey Tautou, followed by the family politics of The Secret of the Grain. For further information go to sydneyfilmfestival.org.Tickets are $65 for a full nine-film subscription or $55 for concession, while a five-film flexipass is $45 and $40. Single sessions are $12 for adults, $10 concession and $6 for students and those under 26. Tickets can be bought at the Greater Union box office.
